Ships Mod v1.0 Released!

by Cuchaz

The extremely long beta period for Ships Mod is finally over. Today I'm releasing v1.0 of Ships Mod. A lot of work has gone into getting just the basic core of Ships Mod working. The idea that you can put a bunch of blocks together, press a button, and have your ship come to life in a somewhat realistic way is something Minecraft (ironically enough) was not designed to do at all. I think we have something now that basically works though, and I'm happy to be able to end the beta period today. Ships Mod is far from perfect, but the basics mostly work, and I'll of course keep working on it.

The end of the beta means a few restrictions that I asked everyone to observe during the beta can now be lifted. Please feel free to include Ships Mod in your mod packs. If you run into issues with Ships Mod not playing nice with other mods, let me know. I'll see what I can do to fix it. Also, please feel free to make mod showcases and youtube videos featuring Ships Mod. If you send your creations to me, I'll find a place for them on the website so others can find them too.

So, without further ado, here is the list of changes for this version of Ships Mod:

  • Mobs can now walk and ride on ships!
  • Added Ship Projector block - shows a 3d blueprint of any ship on the clipboard!
  • Clipboard is now craftable in survival mode
  • Added view rotation buttons for the launch GUI
  • Fixed issue with rain falling inside of ships
  • Fixed issue with displaced water blocks not being cleaned up properly
  • Fixed issue with lights on ships leaving bright spots on the water after launching
  • Fixed issue with opening Ender chests on ships
  • Fixed issue with using anvils on ships
  • Fixed issue with door sounds on ships

You can download the new version of Ships Mod using the bright shiny green button right here.

Oh, and stay tuned for a release for Minecraft 1.7.10. I'm working on that next! =)
